(b) log_{2}(M^{4}/N^{3})** (3) Given that log _{10}9 = 0.95 and log_{10}2 = 0.30, without using a calculator evaluate:**

(c) log

_{10}(9/2)

(d) log

_{10}(1/2000)

log<10> (1/2000)

since:

log<10> 1 = 0

log<10> 10 = 1

log<10> 2 = .30

log<10>1 - (log<10>10 + log<10>10 + log<10>10 + log<10>2

so..

0 - (1+1+1+.30)

= -3.30
