Those Pesky Word Problems

If I read your BOB's correctly, it seems some of you are being challenged by those pesky word problems which aren't what they used to be. I was wondering if your sharing strategies for solving them with each other might be of value? I'm sure each of you has your own unique way that might really help a fellow student in need---
